Cook the Lasagna Noodles: Cook the Mueller’s lasagna noodles according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
Prepare the Meat Sauce: In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned. Add the minced garlic, followed by tomato sauce, basil, oregano, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 15 minutes.
Make the Cheese Mixture: In a medium bowl, mix the ricotta cheese, 2 cups mozzarella, Parmesan cheese, and egg. Season with salt and pepper.
Assemble the Lasagna: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). In a 9x13-inch baking dish, spread a thin layer of meat sauce. Place a layer of Mueller’s lasagna noodles on top, followed by a layer of cheese mixture. Repeat, finishing with a layer of meat sauce and the remaining mozzarella cheese on top.
Bake the Lasagna: Cover the dish with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until the cheese is melted and golden.
Rest and Serve: Let the lasagna rest for 10-15 minutes before slicing and serving. Garnish with fresh basil if desired.
