Garlic Butter Steak Bites with Potatoes in Crock Pot

Ingredients
  

  • 2 lbs Chuck roast Cut into 1.5-inch cubes
  • 1.5 lbs Red potatoes Cut into chunks
  • 4 tbsp Butter Sliced
  • 4 Garlic cloves Minced
  • 1 tbsp Olive oil Optional for browning
  • 0.5 cup Beef broth Low sodium
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce For added depth
  • 1 tsp Salt Adjust to taste
  • 0.5 tsp Black pepper
  • 0.5 tsp Onion powder
  • 0.5 tsp Smoked paprika Optional

Equipment

  • 1 Crock Pot 6-quart slow cooker
  • 1 Cast iron skillet Optional for browning
  • 1 Sharp knife For cubing steak and potatoes
  • 1 Cutting Board For prep work

Method
 

  1. Optional: Brown steak bites in hot skillet with olive oil for 2–3 minutes.

  2. Layer chopped red potatoes on the bottom of your crock pot.

  3. Place steak cubes on top of the potatoes.
  4. In a saucepan or microwave, melt butter with minced garlic.

  5. Pour garlic butter evenly over the steak and potatoes.
  6. Add beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and all seasonings.
  7. Cover and cook on LOW for 6–7 hours or HIGH for 3–4 hours.
  8. Gently stir before serving and spoon extra garlic butter sauce over the top.
  9. Serve hot, optionally with a sprinkle of herbs or parmesan.

Notes

Potatoes should always go at the bottom for even cooking.
Don’t skip the garlic butter, it’s the star of this dish.
Leftovers reheat beautifully and can be frozen in portions.
You can substitute Yukon Gold potatoes or stew meat if needed.
