Ingredients
  

  • 2 lb Lean ground beef
  • 1 Dry French onion soup mix 1 packet
  • 1 cup Breadcrumbs Panko preferred
  • 2 Eggs Large
  • 0.25 cup Milk Whole or 2%
  • 0.5 cup Gruyère or provolone cheese Shredded
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 0.25 tsp Black pepper Fresh cracked

Equipment

  • 1 Crock Pot 6-quart slow cooker
  • 1 Mixing Bowl Large size for meatloaf mix

Method
 

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, soup mix, breadcrumbs, eggs, milk, cheese, Worcestershire sauce, and pepper.
  2. Mix gently until just combined. Do not overmix.
  3. Shape the mixture into a loaf and place it on parchment or foil inside the crock pot.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 6–7 hours or high for 3–4 hours.
  5. In the final 15 minutes, top with more shredded cheese and cover to melt.
  6. Let rest for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • You can prep this a day ahead and refrigerate the uncooked loaf.
  • This recipe freezes well after cooking. Wrap tightly and freeze up to 3 months.
  • Optional additions include mushrooms, parsley, or a splash of balsamic vinegar for depth.
