  • 2 Boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 3 cups Chicken broth Low sodium preferred
  • 2 cups Marinara sauce Any brand
  • 1 cup Heavy cream Or half-and-half
  • 1/2 cup Grated parmesan cheese Not powdered
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 tsp Garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp Onion powder
  • Salt & pepper To taste
  • 1 cup Small pasta optional Elbow or ditalini recommended
  • Fresh basil or parsley For garnish

  • 2 Forks For shredding chicken

Method
 

  1. Place chicken, broth, marinara, and seasonings in the crock pot.
  2. Cook on LOW for 6–7 hours or HIGH for 3–4 hours.
  3. Shred the chicken with two forks inside the crock pot.
  4. Stir in heavy cream and parmesan.
  5. If using pasta, add now and cook for another 20–30 minutes.
  6. Taste and adjust seasoning.
  7. Serve hot, garnished with fresh herbs.

Notes

  • Freeze the base (chicken, broth, marinara, cream) without pasta for best texture.
  • Reheat gently and add extra broth if thickened.
  • Easily customizable with spinach, rice, or gluten-free pasta.
  • Try using oat milk and a cornstarch slurry for a dairy-free version.
